I'm pretty sure the following book was a heavy collaboration with Temple Grandin who is a successful, adult, female, published, Autistic speaker that has lived (adolecense) it and is sharing strategies. EXCELLENT!
Adolescents on the Autism Spectrum
A Parent’s Guide to the Cognitive, Social, Physical, and Transition Needs of Teenagers with Autism Spectrum Disorders
By Chantal Sicile-Kira
The Berkley Publishing Group
Copyright 2006
This book is a definite MUST HAVE if you need the words to describe and explain the specific issues that your Ad-Auti/Aspi is experiencing.
It would be even better to read BEFORE your child gets to this stage so that you can prepare and communicate expected changes to both yourself, family, professionals and plan your transitions effectively with specific descriptions and suggestions.

Suggested Books for Parents AND Professionals
AUTISM-ASPERGER'S & sexualityPuberty and BeyondForeword by Teresa Bolick, Ph.D., author of Asperger syndrome and Adolescence
Parental Guidance Recommended for this bookBy: Jerry and Mary Newport.
FUTURE HORIZONS, INC.EMAIL: INFO@FUTUREHORIZONS-AUTISM.COMWWW.FUTUREHORIZONS-AUTISM.COM
This may be the area to explore in liu of "Health" Class. I'm not sure how much is understood by the "Ad-Auti/Aspi". This may be a good guideline to look at. Better use of time spent by both professional and Ad-Auti/Aspi.

Bad Posting
It seems someone is posting "dating ads" under my name. Please disregard anything like this. I have caught several and removed them, but a few seem to sneak in. Thanks for checking in. Hopefully I'll figure out how to put a stop to the unwanted posts.

This is worth the time it takes to check out. It may not have all the bells and whistles, but for $200 and the opportunity to help another child other than your own, I feel it will make a difference. If I can find out where to purchase them, I will do so!
If you find information otherwise, please post it here so those of us who are ready to spend the money can do so wisely. Any constructive information pro or con is ALWAYs welcome and helpful!
